Compliance veteran brings a wealth of experience to critical leadership position

Julie-Correll-Headshot-web-2019-v2Atlanta, GA - The Providence Service Corporate and LogistiCare, the nation’s largest non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) broker, today announced the promotion of Julie Correll to chief compliance officer.

In this role, Julie is responsible for implementing and leading all Medicare / Medicaid program integrity compliance activities, including conducting ethics investigations and risk assessments, overseeing auditing and monitoring activities, and working with clients and law enforcement on issues pertaining to fraud, waste, and abuse.

Prior to her appointment, the 30-year industry veteran, who began her career at LogistiCare in 2013, served as the company’s associate general counsel and ethics and compliance officer. In this role, Julie established the company’s first comprehensive corporate compliance function, including forming and chairing LogistiCare’s compliance committees.

“The consolidation of The Providence Service Corporation holding company with LogistiCare, and our recent acquisition of Circulation, provided an opportunity to streamline functions,” said Jeff Felton, LogistiCare CEO. “Because Julie’s experience is aligned with the needs of each business, she is well positioned to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures and more are well-managed across the enterprise.”

Prior to joining LogistiCare, Correll was of counsel for middle-market and small private employers, where she provided executives with legal and business advice, ensuring compliance with corporate, safety, environmental, and employment laws and regulations. She began her legal career at Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon (now Locke Lord), where she specialized in corporate law and commercial transactions and litigation.

“Because LogistiCare | Circulation provides services in the highly complex and heavily regulated healthcare industry, there are many compliance challenges that are constantly changing. I welcome the opportunity to create and implement enterprise-wide compliance protocols to ensure the entire company is operating under comparable guidelines and meeting regulatory requirements,” said Correll. “I am fortunate to be part of an organization that insists on ethical and compliant behavior in all of its activities, and has leaders, at all levels, who prioritize doing the right thing.”

Correll received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and philosophy, with honors, from Northern Illinois University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was an editor of the Loyola Law Journal. Correll is licensed to practice in Illinois and Virginia and is certified in healthcare compliance.
