LogistiCare delivers food to residents of New Jersey amid COVID-19 pandemic

Written by Modivcare | Jun 30, 2020 3:01:00 PM

On June 25th LogistiCare teammates joined Friends In Action, Inc. and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey to pack, prepare and distribute food to thousands of Atlantic City residents in need.  Demand has increased since the COVID-19 pandemic hit.  Many of the meals have gone to families of laid-off casino workers. Many people are in need of food because Atlantic City’s unemployment rate is near 30%, which is twice the national average.

“It’s been incredibly reassuring for me to see such a diverse community as Atlantic City coming together, with everybody,” said Tammy Murphy, New Jersey First Lady.  “It doesn’t matter if you are in law enforcement, if you’re in the government, if you are a volunteer, or in corporate.”

Together we have distributed more than 7,500 meals across the state of New Jersey since mid-March.
