LOGISTICARE PROMOTES ALBERT CORTINA TO CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER


ATLANTA, GA, September 30, 2003 – LogistiCare, Solutions, LLC, a leading provider of transportation network management, today announced the promotion of Albert Cortina to chief operating officer, effective immediately. In this role, Mr. Cortina is responsible for management of the company’s day-to-day operations nationwide and the company’s field management report to him. He reports to John L. Shermyen, chairman and chief executive officer of LogistiCare.

Mr. Cortina, a 7-year veteran of the company, who for the past three years has served in the capacity of executive vice president of operations, oversees the company's nationwide operations, including contract compliance, end-use customer service and transportation network development. In this capacity, he plays an instrumental role in overseeing the company’s strategic business development decisions, risk management and liability issues.

“Albert is an outstanding operating executive who has played a significant role in creating the extraordinary period of growth and success we have enjoyed as a company,” said Shermyen. “His expertise in compensation models, contract monitoring and managed care utilization has made a direct positive impact on our sustained viability. We expect him to continue to play a key role in our company as we continue to grow the business.”

During Mr. Cortina’s tenure, LogistiCare’s revenues have grown by 465 percent, profits have doubled, and its service area increased by seven-fold.

Mr. Cortina joined LogistiCare from Premier Practice Management, a physician practice management organization, and its successor, Caremark/MedPartners Physicians Services, Inc. Among his responsibilities was developing physician compensation models, managed care utilization contract monitoring and creating a process and model for acquiring and merging private practices.

Mr. Cortina began his career at Georgia's Department of Audits Medicaid Division. His seven-year tenure with the state involved conducting Medicaid health and cost report audits on nursing homes, home health agencies and rural hospitals.

A graduate in business administration from Florida State University, he also is a licensed certified public accountant.
