LOGISTICARE HONORS EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERS FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH EFFORTS
ATLANTA, Nov. 12, 2004 – LogistiCare president and chief executive officer, John Shermyen, announced today the winners of this year’s Founder’s Cup award, along with recognizing numerous other individual LogistiCare employees for their volunteer efforts in 2004.
The Founder’s Cup award is presented annually to the company’s network operations centers and central business offices/regional offices that have contributed the “most” to the communities in which they operate.
“I am pleased and very proud that LogistiCare has once again made a positive mark in the communities we serve,” said Shermyen. “I reviewed all of the community outreach activity reports and was amazed at the level of commitment and creativity our many employee volunteers have demonstrated in helping to make a difference in our communities. “
This year’s Founder’s Cup awards were presented to:
- Wallingford, Conn. – Network Operations Center (NOC)
- Dover, Del. – Central Business Office (CBO)
Shermyen, along with a panel of senior management members, reviewed hundreds of activity submissions from across the company’s 11 state operations to select the two Founder’s Cup winners.
“The selection process was difficult, and I am thankful for each and every individual who participated in LogistiCare’s 2004 community outreach efforts,” praised Shermyen. “Without their efforts, all of the great things I saw would not have been possible.”
Shermyen has issued a challenge to all of the company’s nearly 700 employees: Strive for 2005 volunteer hours in 2005 and to use their 2004 community outreach efforts as building blocks to making their 2005 community outreach campaigns even stronger. LogistiCare employees recorded a total of 1,699 volunteer hours in 2004.
